I want the Vita, but I’ll wait for the 2000 model to either reach here or become cheaper to import.

    • TheExile285 ♜

      Why?

    • Roberto Ruiz Contreras

Yeah, Why? The 2000 model will have an LCD screen instead of an OLED screen… in short everything looks slightly brighter and yellow on the LCD, when with the OLED everything has the colors that it was supposed to have with a better resolution.

    • zeezee

Why? Nobody else uses OLED for tablets or small devices. Aside from the fact that it is more expensive, it uses substantially more power for white images, has a very unnatural “blue” tint, and has half of the approximate lifespan of LCD. The “benefits” of OLED are overstated and nobody is going to notice the differences aside from a side by side comparison with an LCD. Even then, the difference is subjective.

Someone may think that OLED “looks better” on a Vita only as a result of their perceived expectation. It simply looks more “blue”. The size and resolution are identical. One would argue, however, that the included 2gb of storage is more or less useless these days. But its nice that a memory card is no longer a requirement.

    • An Tran

Not that it looks more blue, more like ‘more saturated’. These types of screens produce some of the best blacks and have nice colors, but you’re right in that there’s a very slight blue tint.
And I agree, it seems OLED screens are much too overrated right now.

    • An Tran

As someone who has a Galaxy Nexus with a 720 x 1280 Super AMOLED (meaning FAR SUPERIOR to the Vita’s OLED) screen, I don’t really care. I never have problems switching between my phone’s screen and any other screen.
Besides, the resolution between the 1000 and 2000 are the same; they’re just using different screen techs.

    • Croix Zapp

you guys think i should get 3ds xl now or wait for black friday?

    • TheExile285 ♜

      Now

    • An Tran

I like the color combinations and the built-in 1 GB memory means I won’t have to buy the extremely overpriced memory cards until PSO2 comes over (if it ever get’s released in the US). Plus it looks like it’s much more comfortable to hold.

    • TheExile285 ♜

Well the 1GB is only gonna be able to hold save data and nothing else and you could get an 8GB MC for $20 or less. As for the colors, I don’t think we will see many of them outside of Japan (doesn’t matter if you import though). I’ve been wrong before though.

    • An Tran

Well I don’t intend to download any of my Vita games digitally (aside from PSO2 and other free games), so the 1 GB is perfect for me until said game(s) come out. And about the colors….perhaps I might end up importing after all. I want the white and blue one.

EDIT: Also, $20 for 8GB is much too high :/

    • Roberto Ruiz Contreras

the problem is that a lot of games require updates and, patches, and a 1gb memory will not be enough, like Killzone on Vita requires an update that will not fit into a 4gb memory

  • TheExile285 ♜

Good lord, its a good thing I already own both of these……

    • Roberto Ruiz Contreras

      Me too.

    • ShadowDivz

Man… That cheap vita memory card. 16gb…
I try to avoid ordering anything online but dude….

    • TheExile285 ♜

“I try to avoid ordering anything online but dude….”

….WHY? You can find some of the best deals online! lol

Also, I replied to you on OT about Malicious Rebirth :V

    • ShadowDivz

Okay. I didn’t pay attention to my notifications and kinda asked my question to a random post of yours.

      *facepalm

I just don’t trust the internets. Its bad enough getting a virus watching porn, imagine if i was entering my credit card.

Hell, i don’t even bank online. I prefer to go ALL THE WAY to the bank to do my business.

    • TheExile285 ♜

Use a highly trusted site like Amazon. Never had or heard of those types of problems with them.

  • Tyrannikos

Eugh, jesus… The Vita isn’t getting to awesome of a sale, is it? I’ll wait for any Black Friday stuff. I wouldn’t mind just $20 off if I wasn’t required to buy Sony’s crappy memory stick. Speaking of which, I should probably buy one now while it’s 46% off. That is definitely a good deal.

  • Tiredman

This holiday season is all about the Wii U for me. Someday I will get a Vita, but the base system itself will need to be cheaper, and the memory even cheaper still. I don’t appreciate all the crap sony keeps pulling with trying to charge extreme pricing on everything, so to show my dislike of their practices, I wait till major sales happen. I would snag one for Black Friday, but as I said at the start, its all about Wii U for me this holiday season.
