A patch for Pokémon X and Y has just been released today. This patch is meant to fix the saving glitch that occurs if you save inside Lumiose City. Players can now save anywhere in Lumiose City without worrying about save-data corruption. It also fixes errors that have occasionally occurred on the GTS when trying to trade Pokémon using the filter function. You can download the patch by using the QR codes listed below.

To use the QR code, go to the home menu and hold down either the L or R button to access the camera. Tap the checkerboard icon in the bottom-left corner and align the frame with the QR code for the game of your choice. If that doesn’t work, simply go to the eShop and find Pokémon X or Pokémon Y. You’ll also need about 230 blocks free to download the patch.

This is not the first time Nintendo has patched a game through a downloadable update. Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS received a patch last year that stopped people from taking shortcuts in the Wuhu Loop, Maku Wuhu, and GBA Bowser Castle 1 courses. Similarly, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword also received an update channel to fix the glitch revolving around the Song of the Hero.

You can check out the details of the patch on Nintendo’s support site by clicking here.

Editor’s Note: The article has been changed to reflect that the patch fixes a known issue saving within Lumiose, not outside of it.
