The Gameboy Color game Dragon Quest Monsters 2, or Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 to those of us in North America, is getting a remake for the Nintendo 3DS — only in Japan so far, much to our dismay. It follows Iru or Ruka, (depending on which version of the original you played) who are monster breeders that wish to be the master of monsters. They are off to, what else, try to save their kingdom from disaster! Explore dungeons and collect monsters in the game with your friends. You can breed or scout monsters and enjoy the appearance of monsters from Dragon Quest X which can become your allies.

Below are the latest batch of screenshots for Dragon Quest Monsters 2:

About Crystal Colwell

What's up everyone? Crystal here! I spend my time writing up the news for you all and keeping us all up to date with incoming game info from Japan. I do a little bit of everything else around here, too. 🙂 Happy Reading!

first good news that I’ve heard coming from Square Enix in a long time, now they just have to publish it in the rest of the world.

I don’t care. SE treats DQ like a red headed step child and they don’t localize any of their entries. I would rather they not make them at all than keep taunting me with all the entries that languish in Japan.

Yet another DQ game in localization limbo. We still need DQ7, DQM1 and Slime MoriMori 3. I’m losing my faith that Square Enix will bring their best franchise to the West. And the damned region locking on the 3DS makes it unlikely I will bother to import as I don’t want to get a Japanese 3DS makes it all that much worse.
