It appears Capcom is beginning to slow down on their hordes of overpriced paid downloadable content. Well, at least in Japan with the announcement that they are putting out some free DLC in the recent PlayStation 3 release of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. The additional content can be found in Olga’s online shop where you can get various items including a “Demon Summoning Perfume.” While holding the perfume you can visit the Black Cruse Island, and visit either the Magic Temple or Canopy of Fear to cause a special monster to appear that will hinder your progress each time you enter the room with said monster, and it will change its appearance for an additional challenge.

The other DLC items can be found in Barogue’s shop (Rough Translation):

  • Tonic of Overlord
  • Life’s Incense
  • Demon/Magical Beast Extract
  • 10-year dried Galaimo (Garaimo)
  • Home Shore Stepping Stones
  • Oboro Feather’s Secret Medicine

This free DLC for Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is not confirmed for release outside of Japan, and no release date is yet set in Japan.
