Like the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation Vita, the PlayStation 4 will indeed be region-free. While not announced at their press conference, when asked on Twitter, Sony Computer Entertainment public relations relayed the confirmation to Brad Douglas, employed at Sony Japan, that PlayStation 4 will indeed by region-free.

If that wasn’t enough, Sony’s own Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Worldwide Studios boss, confirmed it himself on Twitter when asked, and answered with a simple ‘yes.’ So, no used game restriction, no DRM with no required online connection in a draconian manner, $399.99 price point, and region-free. Sony is really going all out.

The PS4 is also available for pre-order at Amazon, Amazon.ca.
