Funimation Simulcast Schedule | Spring 2013

You can tell that spring is in the air: Funimation has been busy making announcements regarding their spring 2013 simulcast schedule. Four shows have been added to their lineup so far, and a couple are already available to watch. See the list below for a rundown of each show and when you can catch the newest episodes.

Premieres April 10 at 1 PM

Izumiko Suzuhara has spent her life tucked away in remote Japanese shrine with her guardian and her guardian’s son, Sagara Miyuki. Izumiko has a strange but inconvenient ability: she destroys any electric device she happens to touch. Despite this, she moves to the city with Miyuki in tow. The two don’t have the best relationship; however, this might have to change when they find out that Izumiko is actually the vessel for a Shinto deity and Miyuki is a being meant to protect her from harm. Nai is a boy who spends his days searching for a loved one he has lost. During his wanderings he stumbles upon a pick-pocket named Gareki just in time for them to both be framed for a crime they didn’t commit. It’s both a blessing and a curse when they then fall under the shadow of a governmental defense organization called Circus that is made up of many dangerous and talented individuals. Strangely enough, Circus might be the key to helping Nai find who he’s searching for. [ Announcement ]

Phenomena called spacequakes are common in Shido Itsuka’s world. They’re dangerous and frequent, but their cause is unknown until Shido discovers a mysterious girl right in the midst of a spacequake. The girl is a type of spirit that is the source of the quakes; and as if this knowledge weren’t surprising enough, Shido also learns that he has the ability to seal a spirit’s powers. He is recruited to do this by his sister, a member of an organization dedicated to protecting the world from the devastation these spirits cause. But Shido’s job isn’t that easy- because in order to seal a spirits’ powers, he has to make that spirit fall in love with him first. [ Announcement ]

It’s the ultimate demotion: Sadao is a Devil King with his sights set on conquering the world. He would have done it too, had he not been defeated by a pesky hero named Emilia. The loss sends him an entirely different world, which just so happens to be our very own Tokyo. Sadao finds himself completely unable to tailor his abilities as a Demon King to this strange new place and ends up having to take a part-time job at a fast food restaurant to support himself. A Certain Scientific Railgun S

This is the second season of the A Certain Scientific Railgun anime. Mikoto Misaka is one of the most powerful espers in Academy City- and that’s saying something, since the city is teeming with people who also possess unique esper abilities. Kuroko is another talented esper who uses her powers on behalf of Judgement, a law enforcement group; though she enjoys flustering her roommate Misaka when not on Judgement business. Together with Kuroko’s Judgement partner Uiharu and their friend Saten, the girls encounter all sorts of interesting and strange things in Academy City.  This second installment in the series follows The Sisters Arc from the original light novel storyline.
