So far, February has proven to be the month of Fire Emblem: Awakening. Not only did the game itself get released in North America earlier this month, but now, a couple of figurines based on characters in the game have been announced for the discerning collector.

The first is a “Masked Marth” figma, which unfortunately, seems only to have been teased at this point, meaning we don’t know what it actually looks like yet.

On the other hand, a 1/8th scale model of the Dark Mage, Tharja seems to be a bit closer to completion.

It should be noted that, compared to the Marth figurine which is a Figma (an articulated figure with interchangeable bits and pieces), Tharja seems to be a “paint-it-yourself” model, for the more dedicated collector/hobbyist.

Marth and Tharja are just the latest Nintendo characters to be made into figurines. They will be joining Pit and Dark Pit from Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Link from The Legend of Zelda.

Thanks to oprainfall editor/Japanese speaker Will Whitehurst for his Japanese translation/model knowledge.

About Devin Kotani

Devin is a Canadian, and as such, plays hockey (no he doesn’t) and drinks maple syrup (not really) while riding a wild moose (he’s never seen a moose). When he’s not perpetuating cultural stereotypes, he’s playing videogames, which has been, on occasion, very bad for his mental health, problems with which have plagued him for years. Now, at 20, he’s getting his mental health issues under control, and he’s trying to decide what to do with his life. He’s currently debating between journalism and trying his hand at the dramatic arts.

  • Aww damn, the title disappoints! I knew of the Marth Figma before seeing this post but thought you may have actually had photos of the prototype. Then you imply Figmas (pleural) so my mind raced to other possible FE Figmas but alas it wasn’t a Figma at all – it was a model kit. Shame :/ Oh well, hopefully if Marth sells well some other FE characters will be made as well. Link was amazing. I’m gutted I missed out on Samus!

    • My apologies 🙁

I just like those super alliterated headlines you see sometimes, which is why I worded it like that.

    • Haha, no worries. I must admit the headline is very catchy ;D

    • The Tharja one isn’t a model kit it’s just a figure…

  • So full of want.

  • Dustin Valentine

I think that Tharja is only unpainted because it’s a prototype. The final product will probably be a regular (already painted) static figure.

  • That’s a pretty nice figure. I can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s finished.

  • I haven’t even played Fire Emblem (yet!) and ME WANTY! 😀

  • The Tharja figure isn’t finished yet, that’s how they tease most figures…

  • Dogi

The Tharja’s just a regular PVC figure. It’ll be painted on release, there’s already pictures of it painted.

    • Where’d you see it painted? I can’t find anything to that extent, really want to see it at that stage though…

  • RichieBerry

Figma? That sound like what happens when you write Sigma in an olde fashioned style. I get the fig for figure but the ma for…?

    Regardless, that looks very stylish.

    • Figma are a specific product line of Figures that have ball joints, the Tharja figure is just a figure but the Marth one is supposed to be a Figma…

  • RaikRhythm

Would love to have one of these. 😀
