A Certain Scientific Railgun

Funimation has announced the cast for their English dub of the series A Certain Scientific Railgun (Toaru Kagaku no Railgun). Fans who are familiar with its parent series A Certain Magical Index (Toaru Majutsu no Index) will recognize many of the voices as voice actors return to reprise their roles.

The main cast consists of:

Character Actor
Mikoto Misaka Brittney Karbowski
Kuroko Shirai Alison Viktorin
Kazari Uiharu Cherami Leigh
Ruiko Saten Brina Palencia
Toma Kamijo Micah Solusod

You can see the rest of the cast listed on Funimation’s website here.

A Certain Scientific Railgun takes place in the same universe as Magical Index, but the story has a very different focus. The main character is Mikoto Misaka, a middle-school girl who possesses incredible esper abilities. Together with the rest of the main cast of girls, Mikoto encounters all sorts of strange people and circumstances within Academy City. The series is based on a manga of the same name (written by Kazuma Kamachi and illustrated by Motoi Fuyukawa), and a second season of the anime called A Certain Scientific Railgun S is set to come out in April of this year.

The DVD release of A Certain Scientific Railgun (featuring the dub and a free gift that has yet to be announced) will be available for purchase on April 16, 2013.
