Phantasy Star Online 2

Phantasy Star Online 2 for the PlayStation Vita has a rather lengthy intro video. This Sega title is an RPG that came out for Microsoft Windows on July 4, 2012 and will release on the Vita in Japan sometime in 2013.  Phantasy Star Online 2 will also be available for iOS and Android devices later in the year. The game has been confirmed as free to play, and both the cross save and cross play features will be available as well. While we certainly hope for a North American release date we can tide ourselves over with this intro video for the time being.

Phantasy Star Online 2 certainly looks like it will be a fun, fast paced game that will throw some beasty monsters at us.

About Crystal Colwell

What's up everyone? Crystal here! I spend my time writing up the news for you all and keeping us all up to date with incoming game info from Japan. I do a little bit of everything else around here, too. 🙂 Happy Reading!

the areas and monsters in this video look great! the vita mold looks just as good the pc version. i really want to get vita just for pso2 but i’m starting to get an eery feeling about a US release the way media for the japanese edition keeps plugging away with no word on a US version. what would it take to start a campaign? or is it too early to make a call for that?

  • Just wished the Android and iOS versions weren’t mini versions of the full versions. Smartphones now are about as powerful or a little more powerful than the Vita, so running the game shouldn’t be a problem. Only problem would be controls, but what they can offer is the full game (Vita-equivalent version with the same limited blocks) for those who bought a mobile or normal bluetooth gamepad and have the current smaller touch-version for those without. So basically, the simpler game for those who want to play a more relaxed game alone on the go, and the full game for those who put out money to continue their online adventures outside their home. And who don’t own a Vita.

You obviously have never owned, used or seen a Vita if you think that smartphones are anywhere near the spec level of a dedicated games console, keep dreaming and learn how to use google you fool

  • I really want this game in the west. SEGA said early 2013, and it is now early 2013, and not a word of the western release since then. Hopefully it comes out sometime before April, wishful thinking however.

I highly doubt this is coming to the US anytime this year. We would have heard something about it by now.
