wizardry online

Wizardry Online is now available in North America, for those over the age of 17. The game, which has been heralded as one of the most hard core fantasy MMO’s, truly has to be experienced firsthand. The game makes no apologies for being brutal either. The dungeons are harsh, there is no auto-healing, and when you die you stay dead.

Wizardry Online offers a little bit of something for everyone with its massive battles, ferocious monsters and the ability to hunt your fellow players.  The game has also received some love in the form of upgrades, which the developers seem keen on offering whenever they are needed. The developer team is currently working on the long load times among other things and are asking players to work with them over the next few days as they work to make all of the improvements the players want to see.

When beginning the game, after installing it of course, players chose from one of 5 races, all of which are beautifully drawn. Here is an example of each race available in the game:

porkul
dwarves
humans
gnomes
elves

Classes you can then chose from are fighter, mage, priest and thief:

Capture

The game promises insane difficulty, complex puzzles, and unrelenting mobs and attacks around every corner that even the best RPG players will find to be the ultimate of challenges.  There are Wikis and helpful forums where players can get a little help and figure out what to do next. Since every bit of what I have read about the game sounds like something I need to try out, I hope to see you all there!
