With Etrian Odyssey IV coming at the end of February (the 26th to be exact), Atlus have just announced a reprint for the first three games in the series.

Etrian Odyssey, Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard and Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City will all be available for $29.99 each. Alternatively, newcomers to the series may wish to pre-order a bundle with all three games for $75.00, saving them $5 per game or $15 total. The reprint will take place early next year.

Etrian Odyssey

The Etrian Odyssey series is one developed and published by Atlus. They’re dungeon-crawling RPGs whose trademark is having the player map out the dungeons they explore as they work through them. They also allow for complete character customisation in terms of battle skills and abilities. I myself have been addicted to the first game for the past few weeks.

Personally, I’m looking to get the second and third games, as I’ve only played the first thus far. Will any of you be buying these reprints, or even the fourth game?

  • I haven’t really paid any attention to this series, but now you have my attention. A dungeon crawler? I don’t know how much I really care for that kind of gameplay.

    • There’s not much pull for people who don’t love the gameplay, I don’t think. *I* adore this games, but that’s because I love the way it plays. Complete customisation of characters, you draw your own map as you go…

    • They really are the modern idea of the old-school dungeon-crawlers of the ’80s. I’ve only played a little bit of Etrian Odyssey III, but I’d love to put some real time into the fourth game.

  • I would like to get this and a few other DS games to fill my collection that is somewhat lacking, aside from the Professor Layton series and a few other games.

As an rpg collector i welcome all rpgs, both good and bad!!!

    • Hmm good point… Though I’ve never been a big fan of strategy RPGs or dungeon crawlers, I have played some.

      I feel the same way.

Awesome news. I’ve been wanting to get into these games and was going to rely solely on EOIV, but to be able to get all of the other three games is too great to pass up. Atlus, you are amazing!

I did not know that they even had the other 3 out in the US. I hope they bring the reprint to retail stores in the US. I would love to get the bundle and Etrian Odyssey IV.
