Sony has announced a new program, PSN Day 1 Digital, offering cheaper digital copies of games for the Playstation 3 as an alternative to retail copies.  Available for pre-order, these digital games could possibly spell bad news for stores carrying the same titles.  Also, a few of the games, including Dishonored and Doom 3, will have a 10% discount through PSN Day 1 Digital for consumers who are Playstation Plus members.

Though Sony’s bold move will possibly anger retailers, it seems that they intend to continue the program after its launch on October 2nd.
