Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has confirmed that Monolith Soft is currently developing a title for the Wii U. No other details have been revealed regarding the Xenoblade team’s new project, but it is said to be a new IP, unrelated to an existing series.

About Devin Kotani

Devin is a Canadian, and as such, plays hockey (no he doesn’t) and drinks maple syrup (not really) while riding a wild moose (he’s never seen a moose). When he’s not perpetuating cultural stereotypes, he’s playing videogames, which has been, on occasion, very bad for his mental health, problems with which have plagued him for years. Now, at 20, he’s getting his mental health issues under control, and he’s trying to decide what to do with his life. He’s currently debating between journalism and trying his hand at the dramatic arts.

  • This one had better come stateside.

  • We better start our “convincing” early, just to be safe. Haha.

  • and here I was hoping for Xenosaga IV :/

I hope it’s a game worth of the “Xeno” brand

    •  Namco Bandai owns Xenosaga. Besides that, Monolith had to complete the story in Part III.

  • A new IP, eh?  Guess it won’t be Xenoblade 2.

Xenoblade was epic as hell. So this game should be good too. I’m stoked to see what it could be. Another RPG?

  • I really hope a game like Xenoblade makes it out for WIIu in America 🙂

  •  I hope it’s a Baten Kaitos 3 or something <3

  • I guess that Xenoblade did well enough for them to continue on a Nintendo console. On a side note, used copies of Xenoblade are still over 5000 yen ($60) here in Japan, so it seems that demand is still high for the title.

    • They don’t really have a choice but to continue on Nintendo consoles, seeing as Nintendo owns them.

    • I actually didn’t know this. Reading their Wiki now. No wonder Baten Kaitos and Soma Bringer look so much like Chrono Cross; it’s most of the same staff.

I really hope it’s a turn based RPG!  We haven’t gotten one of those on a Nintendo console in a while!
