Welp, Nintendo has decided to grace us once again with its digital offerings with this week’s Nintendo Download. This week, they’ve been kind enough to give us not one, not two, but three games that nobody’s ever heard of. Slow down, Nintendo of America! Don’t want to hurt yourself! The games available this week include Commando: Steel Disaster on the DSi ($7.99), Touch Battle Tank 3D ($4.99), and Real Bout Fatal Fury Special on the Wii’s Virtual Console (900 points).

In addition to that, they’re discounting Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins on the eShop to $2.99 from now until August 15th as part of their Month of Mario promotion for New Super Mario Bros. 2. Also, they’re offering a free month of family selections on Hulu Plus for the Wii until September 23rd.  You can go to huluplus.com/wii1 to sign up for your free trial.

Finally, there are some videos of Olympic events recreated in LEGO form on the Nintendo Video app. Because, as we all know, nothing on the eShop could ever top a crappy stop-motion recreation of the Olympics.

UPDATE: Oops. I forgot the most important bit of info from this story. We get a new Puzzle Swap panel based on New Super Mario Bros. 2! That makes everything better.

About Kyle Emch

Kyle has been studying music at college for about three years now. He's played the piano since he was 6 years old and has been recently been learning how to write music. He has followed the Operation Rainfall movement on Facebook since it started and was happy to volunteer for the website. Just don't mention Earthbound or the Mother franchise around him.

  • Yep, that picture about sums up the eShop lately. When is Nintendo going to get up off their asses and start giving it the love they gave it at the beginning? Let’s have some truly classic games on the Virtual Console (LoZ: Oracle series, Pokemon Red &Blue, or GBA games for instance). How bout some Kid Icarus: Uprising or Mario Kart 7 DLC? What happened to great eShop games like Pushmo and Sakura Samurai? This is just getting ridiculous.

    • Who needs that when we just got something even better? A new Puzzle Swap panel!

    • TrueWiiMaster

No company can have awesome games coming out every week. It was only 2 weeks ago that Wario Land, Mole Mania (a Miyamoto-made Japan exclusive), and Dot Runner came out, plus Planet Crashers by Renegade Kid (it was a big title despite its rather lackluster…self). In ten days NSMB2 will come out. Other big eshop games coming include Nano Assault EX, Genius Sonority’s RPG, and that Augmented Reality Pokemon game (there’ probably more I can’t think of/don’t know about).
