The Last of Us, Naughty Dog’s new post-apocalyptic survival game, just had new details released by the game’s creative director Neil Druckmann. Naughty Dog is also the creator of a multiple of series such as Jak and Daxter, Crash Bandicoot, and Uncharted. Neil revealed that The Last of Us would have some kind of multiplayer, but he did not disclose any more on the subject.

A question many have wondered about ever since the game was revealed all the way back in December of 2011, is what Joel and Ellie’s relationship is. The answer is simply that Joel was requested by a dying friend to take care of Ellie. Druckmann also said that there will be many more characters who team up with you in the game, but Naughty Dog is only focusing on the relationship between Joel and Ellie as of right now.

Druckmann explained all this information in a video interview with GameTrailers. The Last of Us will be in stores in 2013 as a PlayStation 3 exclusive.
