Sega has announced a new game in the Valkyria Chronicles series, to be released as a browser game. Titled Valkyria Chronicles Duel, it will have players collecting over 200 battle cards, to help build up their battalion. Check out the newly released trailer:

Retaining the anime art style, Duel will feature the similar “3D character battles”that appear in previous Valkyria Chronicles’ games. You will also be challenged in developing your base camp, acquiring new troops, and taking control of enemy territories.

Like most web browser games, Valkyria Chronicles Duel will be free to play and will feature an ‘item transaction’ system.

In addition, a user test is running from today until June 25th. The website also mentions a “smartphone app”, but it is not clear of what it could be used for. Any suggestions what that could be? Share them in the comments!

About David Rawlings

David Rawlings, or ‘Rawky’ as we like to call him, joined the Operation Rainfall Campaign at the beginning. He’s British and found solace with us as he was able to understand our pain about Nintendo and their localizing faux pas. He’s a big fan of the letter ‘U’ and refuses to remove them from words, even though we constantly ask him to. He also believes it’s about time Princess Daisy got kidnapped.
