It has been confirmed that Atlus USA will be publishing the North American release of Code of Princess. The Nintendo 3DS brawler is set to release sometime in the fall (that’s Autumn to us fellow Brits) and select few retailers will award you with an artbook and CD soundtrack of the game called ‘Sound & Visual Books,’ if you pre-order in time.

Have a gander at some screens from the game (click for a bigger view):

Atlas has also sent out emails that it will be publishing Zeno Clash II  (due early 2013) on PSN, Xbox Live and Steam, and The Testament of Sherlock Holmes (due September 2012) on Xbox360 and PS3.

About David Rawlings

David Rawlings, or ‘Rawky’ as we like to call him, joined the Operation Rainfall Campaign at the beginning. He’s British and found solace with us as he was able to understand our pain about Nintendo and their localizing faux pas. He’s a big fan of the letter ‘U’ and refuses to remove them from words, even though we constantly ask him to. He also believes it’s about time Princess Daisy got kidnapped.

  • CAN’T WAIT. Zeno Clash is one of the most innovative and underrated brawlers ever, and deserves any sequel it gets. Sherlock Holmes looks pretty interesting, but I really can’t wait for Code of Princess. I wonder if Atlus is going to run into trouble with the ESRB on that one, since Princess Solange (the main character) looks almost completely nude.

Can anyone tell me hat this game is about? Also, what kind of game is it? Are we talking Final Fantsay 3 for DS or Final Fantasy Revenant Wings or what?

    • It’s basically a side-scrolling fighter with RPG-esque level progression, a spiritual successor to the Saturn classic Guardian Heroes, if you will. In other words, not like an FF game at all. There are a lot of people from Treasure who are on the development team. It centers around a group of four heroes: Solange (the one who’s barely wearing anything), Ali (an androgynous female thief), Lady Zozo (a zombie mage) and Allegro (an elf with a guitar for a weapon).

This game looks pretty interesting, and I’m quite glad Atlus is localizing it.

So it’s like Street Fighter but with a plot?

    • More like Streets of Rage or Final Fight (side-scrolling as opposed to tournament-style fighting), but yes.

  • Hmm…Never heard of it, but that’s something that Rainfall has been very, VERY good about rectifying for me in the past.  I’ll be keeping an eye out to see when the full website is launched, thanks for the heads up.
