Phantasy Star Online 2 is officially an open beta, and Sega has released an instructional video that teaches new players about the game.
The video starts by mentioning that Phantasy Star Online is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the release of this direct sequel, and discusses many of the game’s features in great length, such as character customization, the battle system, classes, weapons and player communication. Note that the video is in Japanese, but is quite straightforward.
The Phantasy Star Online 2 beta version can be downloaded here (note that the game is in Japanese, and players in the open beta aren’t allowed to pass level 30). The full version is coming to the PC sometime this summer and will remain free to play. Mobile phone and Vita versions have also been announced for late 2012 and early 2013 releases in Japan, respectively.
