It was recently announced that the highly heralded third-person beat-’em-ups Yakuza 1 and 2 would be getting a HD upgrade made exclusively for the Wii U. The package will include a multitude of Wii U exclusive features, including off-screen play and a much needed HD upgrade to Yakuza 1 and 2 in the graphics department. While all of that sounds delicious, there hasn’t been a lick of news regarding a Yakuza 1 and 2 HD release for the territories outside of Japan. And to make things worse, a Japanese demo got released today on the Wii U eShop.
Now that the hammering of you poor souls’ hearts is over, there is some good news. As some of you may know, a recent partnership between Operation Rainfall and Language Automation, Inc. has spawned a poll littered with Japanese game delicacies, with a focus on showing their respective publishers that there is an audience for these games (Yakuza 1 and 2 HD being one of the games listed). So, if you haven’t participated in said poll, then get to it! Every vote counts. More info about this special event can be found here.
And as always, as soon as a western release date for Yakuza 1 and 2 HD surfaces, we’ll let you all know!
