When one thinks of their favorite arcade-style flight simulators games, the Ace Combat series is probably at the top of the list for many gamers. However, since the release of Ace Combat: Assault Horizon for the PS3 and Xbox 360, some fans have thought that the use of a real-world setting simply took away much of the charm the originals had.
Now today, on Namco Bandai’s official Ace Combat Facebook fan page, a new update as come up that depicts a completely new cover photo sporting the old Project Aces Logo. A logo which was completely removed during the promotion of Ace Combat: Assault Horizon.
Just as interesting as the old Project Aces Logo, are the unusual objects that resemble fragments of the Ulysses 1994XF04 Asteroid hitting the old fictional world of Strangereal (a key moment that would trigger many of the events in the Ace Combat series).
So what can this all mean? A possible remake of an earlier Ace Combat game? A HD collection of the Strangereal-based titles? Or could this mean that Namco Bandai will be making a completely new Ace Combat title, all while abandoning their real-world setting? It’s anyone’s guess at the moment.
