The Staff predicts what WON’T happen at this year’s E3
Jonathan: You know what’s not going to happen? A huge Final Fantasy VII reveal, or something like that. Sorry guys, but even if the PS4 doesn’t easily play the classics…your dreams of a Final Fantasy VII being remade in beautiful high-definition are still a ways down the proverbial pipe. Also: Zelda Wii U isn’t coming this year, or even next year. I’m thinking that one’s 2015 at best. We may hear about it at this year’s E3, but it will only be to placate die-hard fans. Also… Microsoft isn’t going to change their tune. They should focus entirely on games, which is good, but if you didn’t like that reveal… you’re probably not going to like the system.
Ryan:
Price drop or Ambassador Program for Wii U announced during E3.
Regarding the PS4: $599 or giant enemy crabs.
Also… Microsoft won’t back down on DRM or “online mandatory”.
Jeff:
Nintendo – Massive price cut for the Wii U; a prequel/sequel to Pandora’s Tower; EA announces support for the Wii U; Time Traveler and Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney announced for localization.
Sony – Once Gaikai is running, all PS1 games will be free to PS4 owners; Jennifer Connelly announced as villain for Beyond: Two Souls; Final Fantasy VII HD for Vita.
Valve – They throw their support behind the Wii U.
Ubisoft – Exclusives coming to the Wii U; Rayman Legends delayed again for Xbox One launch.
EA – The Sims Limited Collectors Edition.
Microsoft – Don Mattrick: “You guys actually believed that Xbox One s***? No one could be that stupid. Here’s the real console.”
Surely you all have your own predictions. Did any of yours come true from last year? I’d like to think I’ve become accustomed to Nintendo’s various twists and turns at least, from covering all those Nintendo Directs. But then again, they manage to completely blow my mind from time to time.
I’m going to try something fun! Comment on this article with your E3 Predictions, and the ones we deem the greatest (or the ones that actually happen) will be featured in a follow-up article once I return from the fray next week, and everything’s all over. I’m excited to hear what you guys have to say! For more stuff like this, be sure to check out our E3 page. We’ve got plenty of fun stuff planned to keep you coming back.
