Well, things certainly got interesting in the Media Create charts. After cutting the price, the PlayStation Vita has shot up the charts and settled in at second behind the 3DS. And if you look at last week’s numbers, you’ll see that the Vita increased sales by over 5 times their previous number. And from that, you find challengers for Nintendo’s reign on the software side of things, with Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus and Phantasy Star Online 2: Special Package getting over 60,000 each in sales and the return of Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational – which made a jump from 39th to 16th on the chart.

But, of course, the 3DS won’t go down without a fight, as it claimed the top spot in hardware with 77,439 units sold and holds 11 spots out of a possible 20. Also, Professor Layton‘s last adventure beat out the Vita’s breasts best to lead the way. In addition, Animal Crossing and Dragon Quest have continued to sell well, even with the influx of competition this past week, scoring sales of 73,615 and 46,878 respectively. The “2 million sold” quest between NSMB2 and Mario Kart 7 seems to be coming to a head, as MK7 is just over 10,000 away from the mark. And Fantasy Life has hung on to the Top 20 as it moves closer to the quarter-of-a-million mark.

Almost getting lost in all of this are two games that we’d love to see over here: Dynasty Warriors 8, currently a PS3 exclusive (which will probably come over) and Shining Ark on PSP (which hopefully will come over on PSN). Shining Ark was the top PSP game this week, getting 54,837 in sales. But it was Dynasty Warriors 8 that claimed the top spot this week with over 200,000 sold.
