Yesterday, SQUARE ENIX announced that a free demo is now available for DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World. The demo is available for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via both Steam and Xbox on PC. The press release states that this demo covers the first chapter of the game and introduces players to the characters, battle systems, synthesizing monsters and the exploration mechanics. Also, up to 8 monsters can be recruited and transferred to the full game once it’s out. However, monsters that are transferred to the full game will be back at level 1.
DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World is scheduled to launch for the Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC this upcoming December 3rd, 2026. Along with releasing a new demo yesterday, SQUARE ENIX also put out a new trailer which you can check out down below.
The newest addition to the DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS series, DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World features a robust collection of more than 500 new and fan-favorite monsters, evolved graphics and a narrative that follows dual protagonists Bianca and Nera as they embark on a journey to bring the world of Witherwood back to life. No experience with past DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS games is needed to dive into this monstrously fun new adventure.
