As a fan of indies, I make an effort to scout out any promising new talent. And Supergiant Games has been on my radar for some time now. Though they haven’t made a ton of games, each one has been visually distinct and offered something worthwhile. Which makes today’s news so exciting. Supergiant’s latest, called Hades, has been announced for the Nintendo Switch! It was revealed in the opening minutes of the Indie World Showcase, and I was pleased at how stylish and challenging it looked.
For a little context, Hades is a dungeon crawling rogue-like. It features the lush art Supergiant is known for, but with one great twist. Most of their previous games have been very linear. But given the rogue nature of Hades, it’s unsurprising this one will have lots of replayability. And getting to put the hurt on mythological Greek entities is just icing on the cake.
Thought there’s no release date quite yet, once the game leaves Steam early access, it is slated to launch on Nintendo Switch. That’s great news for fans of stylish rogue adventures. As someone that’s been following Supergiant since I got to play Transistor on my Switch, I’m really excited for this next entry. But if you don’t believe me, just check the trailer below to see what Hades will have to offer.
