Animal Crossing: New Leaf finally came out in Japan last week for the 3DS, and boy did that game rake in the bells for Tom Nook. The game came out on the 8th of November and quickly sold out completely. A new shipment of 300,000 copies is expected at the end of this week, however the game can still be bought on the Nintendo eShop. In fact over 200,000 downloadable copies have been sold already; that is some truly impressive sales numbers. Let’s hope Nintendo uses their newly acquired dosh to speed up the western localisation, however unlikely that may be.
All other games released simply pale in comparison; the same applies to the poor poor Vita, almost slipping below 4,000 units sold in this weeks Media Create charts. It pains me to see such a great piece of hardware suffer so much in sales. And with the new Monster Hunter game now coming to Nintendo’s handheld instead, who knows if it will ever recover?
