Well folks, today’s Nintendo Download is a good day for cat lovers. The reason is, our sole featured game is a Metroidvania where you control a kitty in a mech suit! That may sound psychotic, but trust me it’s well worth trying out. Besides that, we have a couple different sales as well as new digital games. So let’s start by pouncing on a new Meowtroidvania!
I’ve enjoyed a lot of games by Devolver Digital. They seem fearless in publishing crazy and experimental titles that are flashy and compelling, and today’s entry is no different. It’s called Gato Roboto, and it’s a delightful, albeit linear, Metroidvania on PC and Switch. It officially released today, and it’s full of humor, action and giant boss fights. But if you’re still not convinced, you are welcome to read my review and judge for yourself!
Besides that lovely game, there are also a couple sales worth checking out. First, none other than Devolver Digital is having a 10th Anniversary Sale, with discounts from today until June 6th on a bunch of games. Though I won’t list all of them in this Nintendo Download, here’s some highlights – Ape Out, Crossing Souls, Downwell, Enter the Gungeon, GRIS, Katana Zero and Minit. To see all the other games on sale, just avail yourself by clicking here!
But wait, there’s more! The following are all on sale courtesy of the Game Guide. Starting next week, here are some digital games worth trying. For a mysterious trip to Japan, try Kotodama: The 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa. To slag things in space, try Red Siren: Space Defense. To try your hand at a unique fusion of card games and rogue-likes, try Slay the Spire. Or for a time travelling Metroidvania, check out Timespinner.
We’ll close out this Nintendo Download with some digital games out this week. For your retro fix, there’s Arcade Archives Image Fight and Warlock’s Tower. For games with some strategy, there’s Vectronom, Prime World: Defenders and Golem Gates. For partying with friends, there’s Ragtag Adventurers. For an atmospheric platformer, try Selma and the Wisp.
