Yo-Kai Watch as a franchise is not done with the west as Yo-Kai Watch Blasters launches in North America and Europe this fall. Specifically the localized release of 2015’s Yo-Kai Watch Busters, it comes in two versions: Red Cat Squad and White Dog Squad.
Yo-Kai Watch Blasters takes a different tact from the series’ normal turn-based RPG gameplay. Spun off from the extra multiplayer mode in Yo-Kai Watch 2, Blasters is a co-op, top-down action-RPG, where up to four players take down towering Big Bosses using their skills and Soultimate Moves.
With a major new game bringing Yo-Kai Watch back to the forefront of western 3DS owners, the anime also returns from its long hiatus on July 3rd with its third season on Disney XD. Season 3 not only returns Nate, Jibanyan, and Whisper for further adventures, but also introduces the major new Yo-Kai Usapyon and human co-star Hailey Anne. The series ended its successful run in Japan earlier this year, with the successor series Yo-Kai Watch Shadowside currently on the air on TV Tokyo and a 5th movie due in Japanese theaters this December, Yo-Kai Watch: Forever Friends.
Despite not having the success it did a few years ago, Yo-Kai Watch continues to be quite the force for creator Level-5. Yo-Kai Watch Blasters: Red Cat and White Dog Corps launch in North America and Europe on September 7th, 2018.
