After years of delays, RIVE: Ultimate Edition will launch on Nintendo Switch on Friday, November 17th. Moreover, developer Two Tribes will be offering a 15% discount for its first two weeks of sale, honoring a launch discount for the game promised at E3 2015. The game’s normal pricing will be $14.99 USD.
RIVE, the final game from Two Tribes, was originally slated to launch on Nintendo’s last home console, the Wii U. At E3 2015, players could download a demo of the game as part of a Nindies@Home campaign to promote a series of Wii U indies. Each game in the promotion offered a 15% discount to all who downloaded the corresponding demo. Flashing forward to 2017, the Wii U port was formally cancelled and the team announced it would come to Switch instead, and the 15% discount is now universal to make up for the delay.
RIVE: Ultimate Edition is currently available on PlayStation 4 and PC as of September 2016. The newly launching Switch version of the platform/shooter hybrid features HD Rumble, a Copilot Mode playable with two single Joy-Cons, and the ability to play it anytime, anywhere thanks to the hardware’s adaptable set-up.
