Bandai Namco trademarked the new title .hack//G.U. The Last Recode, in both the United States and Europe extremely recently. It was only a matter of time before it got announced. And now it finally has. The new .hack remaster will be arriving for PS4 and PC in both regions, later this year. .hack//G.U. was originally the sequel series to the first four .hack games. All 7 games originally released for PS2 back in the early to mid 2000s, but eventually became pretty pricey and rare. It’s great finally seeing a remaster and the series getting a revival. The Last Recode will follow the character Haseo as he searches for what’s real in “The World,” an mmo game where the .hack series takes place. He wants to save his friend Shino who was killed in game by a player killer, Tri Edge and thus fell into a coma in the real world. Refer to my original article to see the details on what changes and updates have been made. .hack//G.U. The Last Recode is being developed by CyberConnect 2 and will be published by Bandai Namco. No official date, other than later on in 2017, has been mentioned. Check out the below announcement trailer.
