Welcome to Pricefall, the corner where you find new excuses to buy yourself more gifts. It’s been a bit of a slow week this time with most sales either too short or outdone already. Fortunately a few have stood out and the upcoming week should have a few between Halloween sales and November’s arrival.
Target
Target’s Buy 2 Get 1 Free is officially live!
There’re two ways to sweeten this deal. The first is the usual way to sweeten all Target deals: Red Card members get 5% off. To those unaware, that’s the Target debit/credit card. It’s the main benefit to frequent shoppers there and is unlikely to be with anyone else. If you do have it, then you might as well use it. The other deal is single use 10% off coupon.
- Make an account with Target.
- Download Target’s Kids Wish List app.
- Sign in and make a wish list.
- Click on the 10% off coupon button.
That’s it! The coupon is valid only once between 10/26/16 and 11/23/16 and can be used in-store or online. Though there are some items in the exclusions that stand out as kid-friendly (LEGO), video games are not in the exclusions list and this coupon is eligible for it, meaning that you can get a few games at B2G1F and an additional 10% off.
PC Digital Sales
A fellow writer already wrote about the Steam Halloween sale that’s good until November 1st so I won’t get into it much. The biggest star of the show there is GOD EATER 2: Rage Burst for $24.99 as it comes with GOD EATER: Resurrection for free. If you want to get a more in-depth look, fellow contributor Joe Sigadel reviewed both games and liked them: here’s the first and here’s the second. At $24.99, this is the lowest the game has been and 50% off may be where it sits for a while. While some of the sales are good, others can be found cheaper elsewhere. Nuuvem is one of them with its own Halloween sale where you can use promo code NUUVEM10 to get an additional 10% off. Though many sales prices don’t stand out too much, one is at its cheapest yet:
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 – $5.99 ($5.40)
You can also see various Guilty Gear and Resident Evil games on sale at a slight discount over Steam even before the code, though it’s worth noting that you may already many of the Resident Evil games on sale as there have been two Humble Capcom Bundles for PC and one for the Playstation. The Darksiders Franchise Pack is also available for $9.00 after coupon, though it’s been as low as $7.50 in the past.
Pokemon Sale
Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon come out November 18th. Generally the advice for those who pre-order many games is to get Amazon Prime or sign up for Best Buy’s Gamer’s Club Unlocked (GCU) program. This time you don’t need a membership to get 20% off and it’s thanks to Toys’R’Us. The two games are available for $31.99 and Amazon price matched it to give it to everyone.
Pokemon Sun – $31.99 (TRU Link / Amazon Link)
Pokemon Moon – $31.99 (TRU Link / Amazon Link)
Gamefly Sales
In the growing list of Halloween sales, we’ve got Gamefly’s. A few relatively good ones are:
Devil’s Third (Wii U) – $37.99
Star Fox Zero (Wii U) – $19.99
Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness (PS4) – $21.99
Yes, you read the price on No Man’s Sky correctly. Unfortunately, not every game on sale is at a good price: Gamefly lists Tom Clancy’s The Division for $14.99 used, yet new on Amazon the PS4 version is $13.89 and the Xbox One version is $14.93. The price on both are constantly fluctuating but they’ve been under $15 for a few weeks now so jump on them if interested. Also keep in mind that next month some of these games will be even cheaper or around those prices new, I’m looking at you Dark Souls III, DOOM, Fallout 4, and Street Fighter V.
And that’s it for Pricefall today! As a quick reference, I’ll finish off with a reminder of some of the extra sales mentioned all month as they end this week:
- The last day for Sony’s “spend $100, get $15 back” sale is is November 1st.
- The last day for both Newegg’s checkout sales is October 31st. If you pay with Android Pay, you can get $15 off $100 by entering promo code ANDROID6. If you pay with Masterpass, you can get $25 off $200 if you enter promo code MPGAMER16. Both of these have similar restrictions where no other promo code may be used in the order. Rebates are fine. There may be some last-minute deals to check out, including some Halloween ones, so keep an eye out if you’re interested in that.
Good luck shopping and see you next time. If you’re after anything in particular, sound off in comments below.
