IndieBox is partnering with GameStop to bring indie games to store shelves. This has actually been in the works for a long time now. Games like Song of the Deep by Insomniac Games, or Ready At Dawn’s upcoming title, Deformers, have been funded and published by GameStop’s GameTrust initiative. As a part of that very initiative, they are now partnering with IndieBox to bring some great indie games to store shelves. Known as the GameTrust Collection, they are making a series of indie games available, each in its own box set with steel collector’s cases and other goodies.
The games in the GameTrust Collection are available for preorder, but you’ll want to get your preorder setup ASAP. They will be shipping them to 1,200 select GameStop locations, and this first run will be “extremely limited”. The collection is also only available in the US (both online and in select GameStop stores). Here is a list of the first ten games to join the GameTrust Collection:

- Rogue Legacy
- Axiom Verge
- Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition
- Punch Club
- Jotun: Valhalla Edition
- Awesomenauts
- Chariot
- Stories: The Path of Destinies
- Thomas Was Alone
The box set for each game in the GameTrust Collection comes with these:
- An exclusive SteelBook case
- Full-color instruction manual
- DRM-free game disc
- Soundtrack CD
- Mini art print with Steam key
IndieBox was founded back in 2014, with their mission being to give the “classic PC treatment” to indie games. They wanted to “Bring Back the Box” and the best way to do that was to bring some of the best indie games to store shelves. They also noted that the games in this collection are not spoilers for upcoming IndieBoxes. Some of them are games IndieBox has already worked with, and some are not eligible to be in an IndieBox. This is because they have certain requirements for their subscription service that determine what is or is not eligible to be on it.
If you get yourself a preorder of one of the box sets in this collection, you won’t have too long to wait, as the games are currently scheduled to be available in mid-November. Just remember that you need to preorder ASAP if you want to get one of these box sets, since they are very limited in this first run!
