Beyond the artwork, which is absolutely fantastic, and the spot on voice work, my favorite part of this visual novel is the story. Yes, it’s not as prestigious as something like The Fruit of Grisaia, Umineko, or The House in Fata Morgana, but while it is mostly fun it is also very well written. The fantasy world itself is extremely well realized, and the magic and creatures are well represented and drawn, and even the political machinations would not be out of place in a more “serious” fantasy novel. This game is definitely centered on the fetish of giant breasts and everything to do with breast play (nothing wrong with that at all), so it was a little surprising to see how much depth of story there was below that fleshy surface. I also found it exceedingly pleasant that there were no bad endings or dead ends to the story, only decisions that would lead you to a happy ending with one of the girls or with the entire harem. Part of having a very quality story, though, is in how well it’s localized. And once again MangaGamer has shown that they are the current leaders in the Visual Novel translation world.
The one complaint I have over this game is that I experienced one persistent bug where every now and then I would be greeted with a black screen that only showed the dialogue. I was able to combat this by just saving frequently and then rebooting the game, but this was still an annoyance. It mostly happened while I was in full screen mode, but it happened in either. More than likely it was an issue that will be fairly rare and is specific to a few PC builds or OS. But it never crashed and never ended up inconveniencing me much. But speaking of the screen mode, fans of Eroge will be very happy to see that this game is natively developed in widescreen. So all the artwork looks amazing at 720p widescreen resolution. The music was quite good as well, and it has a playback mode in the bonus section, but clearly the artwork is the star of the show as well as the voice work.
While not quite as massive as some famously long titles like Koihime Musou or Beat Blades Haruka, it is much larger than your average Eroge Visual Novel. There are 5 endings in total, and each one of them varies in their length before you can unlock that particular route ending. It was not very convoluted to achieve them or even 100% of all CG scenes, so you will not need to look for a guide online. One particular pleasure was with how much bonus sex content there was with the harem ending. Normally that is considered either the ideal ending or just a joke end. But in this case they give you a lot of rewards for reaching the end of that route with a couple extra hours of sexually explicit story.
All told I spent about 20 hours on this story, and even though I’m honestly more of an ass man than a breast man, I still am not in any hurry to uninstall this one from my hard drive. Honestly I would like to go back to this one and just play through some of my favorite routes all over again. So I would say that the full price was well justified, and I would really love it if that famous boob lover Kagami Hiroyuki would revisit this world. It’s so well realized that there are many other stories that could be told.
