Aegis of Earth: Protonovus Assault – PS4, PS3, PS Vita Digital, Retail
A very interesting take on the real time strategy genre. It’s kind of a tower defense game, with rpg mechanics. Your city is a circle that can be spun strategically to attack or defend against the incoming monsters. But this title also has a 15 hour campaign to it, so it could be very fascinating.
Murasaki Mist: Akara’s Journey – PS Vita Digital
Charming little indie action rpg comes to the PS Vita. “As the world is coming to an end, Akara, a peaceful young woman who mastered the Dark Arts swears to protect Mythria and end the Stigma that was cast upon the 9 Kingdoms.” Sounds like it might be fun.
Salt and Sanctuary – PS4 Digital
This is my release for the week. Much as I am also into the Senran Kagura series (mentioned below), the Souls (Bloodborne) series is my bread and butter. This game is basically a Souls game in 2D by a very prolific indie company, Ska Studios. Get in here for the brutal fun, if you dare.
Samurai Warriors 4 Empires – PS4, PS3, PS Vita Digital (PS4 version also Retail)
The latest in the Samurai Warriors franchise arrives. This time you can play it also on PS4 and it does look very beautiful. We’ll have our review for this game up soon, so look forward to it.
Senran Kagura Estival Versus – PS4, PS Vita Digital, Retail
The next title in the fabulous Senran Kagura series finally arrives. While the indie title is my most anticipated title, this one runs a close second. And in the offices here at Operation Rainfall, this one is without a doubt the most anticipated title in a while. There is a lot of love for this series with us, and if you play it enough there will be no question why that is. Here is our review.
