Nintendo has Opened its New Accounts System, Nintendo Account

Nintendo - Nintendo Account

Nintendo has launched their new accounts system. You can sign up for a Nintendo account at https://accounts.nintendo.com. This account will allow you to preregister for Nintendo’s upcoming Miitomo app for iOS and Android. Additionally, it will also be used in the MyNintendo system, the successor to Club Nintendo (which launches in North America in March). You can also link your Facebook, Google+, or Twitter accounts with your new Nintendo Account.

If you’re wondering what the difference between a Nintendo Network ID and a Nintendo Account is, here is Nintendo’s answer from the Nintendo of America website.

“Nintendo Accounts and Nintendo Network IDs are used for different purposes.

A Nintendo Network ID is created and used on our dedicated video-game systems, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS family. NNIDs are used for online features (such as online multiplayer or interactions) and for purchasing downloadable software through Nintendo eShop.

A Nintendo Account is necessary to use certain web services (like My Nintendo) and can be used with smart-device applications (like Miitomo).”

So if you are looking forward to the upcoming Miitomo app or plan on taking part in the incoming MyNintendo customer rewards program, you will need to setup a Nintendo Account. It’s very quick and easy to do. Just click on the link above or the source link below to get to the login page.

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
