Classic anime Cowboy Bebop will be getting released on Blu-ray for the first time. It will be released in three flavors. First up is the FUNimation Exclusive version:
No, that is not a vinyl version of the epic theme song. However, it is the tri-fold packaging for the Blu-ray set in the style of those old vinyls. Other goodies include art cards and one of them having a foil stamp autograph by director Shinichiro Watanabe. Fans who order this will also have access to 227 minutes of extra features on the discs. Only 2,500 of these will be available, so get those pre-orders ready. Without taking shipping into account, the site lists this at $64.98.
Next up is the Amazon Exclusive Edition, which will be a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. Instead of art cards, this set contains three art books. The Amazon Exclusive Edition will also include the on-disc extra features from the FUNimation version. This version is limited to 10,000 copies and will cost $89.98. You can see what this set looks like below:
The last version of the standard edition Blu-ray set. This is just a typical Blu-ray set, and does not contain any of the art cards, books or special packaging like the two aforementioned sets. This version will cost $44.99 on FUNimation‘s site and $49.99 on Amazon.
