Today it was confirmed that Compile Heart’s Monster Monpiece will be coming to Western territories this year. The Vita card game will be localized by Idea Factory International, the Western branch of Compile Heart parent company Idea Factory.
This marks the first release for the new branch. Previous games under the Idea Factory umbrella had been localized by Aksys Games, Ghostlight, and – most prominently – NIS America. While we wait to see how this will play out for future Idea Factory titles, this is a major step forward for the company.
Monster Monpiece is a card battling game for the Vita with an ad-hoc feature and an online battle card system. The game features moe-style fantasy monsters that over 50 artists are working on. And while there are some parts that have been deemed controversial by other media outlets, we are still excited to be receiving this game. Monster Monpiece has already received a PEGI rating of 12. No ESRB rating has appeared yet. However, given the PEGI rating, we expect it to be either Teen or Mature.
