Fans of the classic anime and manga series Ranma 1/2 will surely be excited about the new trailer Viz Media shared today. Viz Media will be releasing an HD remastered version of the anime on Blu-ray and DVD. The first entry in this limited edition collection will be released in North America on March 25th of next year. A trailer for the set has just been released, giving some side-by-side comparisons between the original anime and the HD version. Fans of the series will definitely want to check out the trailer, as the HD update has left the animation looking pretty slick:
The manga and anime center around Ranma, a martial artist in high school with some unusual problems. Not only has his father betrothed him to several different girls, but Ranma has the peculiar issue that when splashed with cold water, he becomes a girl. To become a boy again he must be splashed with warm water. These facts, along with some eccentric characters, make for a martial-arts romantic comedy that won’t be quickly forgotten.
