We here at oprainfall don’t just love video games: we’re big fans of anime, too. So in celebration of the medium, we’re here to give you our thoughts on what we’ve been watching each week as we watch it. Old, new – anything goes.
Currently Airing:
Otaku Elf
Elda being needy like she usually is ends up tiring her messenger spirits. Koito provides her old phone as a solution, but this leads to more issues. One thing that I like about the series is the fact that it doesn’t forget the fact that Elda has been in the world for a few hundred years. The historical facts she provides about some relating subjects are interesting. While a comedy, it does have some deeper moments, especially with the bond between Elda and Koito. One of those does show up again later in the episode. I’ve liked the manga and I can say that so far the adaption has been just as entertaining. – Walter

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury
A lot of stuff happened in this episode. Things have jumped from Earth back to the school where the effects of the battle have brought things down. Unsurprisingly, the distrust of the Earth House has grown. On the other side of it, Guel has made his return to space. An attempt to steal Aerial doesn’t go as smoothly as should be expected. We also finally get to see Suletta and Miorine reunite. It starts off nicely as they come to terms with what happened when we last saw them; however, the conversation starts to turn when Suletta mentions her mother. With everything that happened I was happy that Miorine didn’t vent her frustration on Suletta. Instead, she confronts Prospera. This, however, turns on her as Prospera reveals some truths to her.
Out of the Gundam series I’ve watched, Prospera to me is one of the best characters who fill the “Char” type of role. While she speaks in such a calm and gentle way most of the time, she is quite an intimidating character with the amount of control she has on Suletta. We see how she went from a pretty normal person to what she becomes from the tragedy she faced. Even with how scheming she is, her desire for revenge is somewhat understandable. The problem though is what her endgame is, along with what will happen to Suletta. I’m hoping that they keep the momentum they’ve had the last few episodes up. – Walter
