We here at oprainfall don’t just love video games: we’re big fans of anime, too. So in celebration of the medium, we’re here to give you our thoughts on what we’ve been watching each week as we watch it. Old, new – anything goes.

Love After World Domination
This week started off with a focus on the Gekko, specifically some of the other princesses. We get more of a look at Beast and Steel and see more of their personality. Beast is definitely more confrontational and considers Desumi a type of rival, and Steel is more reserved. Desumi, coming from her relationship with Fudo, decides to help Steel (along with a somewhat reluctant Beast) with her love life. The attempts are humorous as Steel is not as capable in a lot of regards but we find out she does have a certain attribute to help. The reveal of who she has an eye for is also one you might not expect. We also get to see a battle/date go wrong due to a medical issue for Fudo. During this part we see Haru looking out for the two. One of my favorite parts was the get well letter sent by Gekko for Fudo. We also get a bit more of Fudo’s mom making an appearance. I’m glad they’ve started to flesh out the characters more, and I think we’ll be getting some more of it in the next episode. – Walter

Ya Boy Kongming! (Paripi Kōmei)
The focus of the last two episode were on Kabetaijin, a rapper who Kongming has an eye on. Although he is known to be talented, he seemingly wants to get out of it. We find him under pressure and with an ailment when he meets Kongming. It’s always interesting to see how a new character reacts to Kongming for the first time. On this occasion, he meets Kongming slightly out of his normal attire. Kabetaijin ends up being challenged by the tactician to a rap battle for a bet. We see more of Kabetaijin’s backstory and he too ends up being impressed by Eiko. The competition of the two was interesting in the most recent episode with quite a bit of flair. We see Kongming had once again had a plan in this one and we have a new member join Eiko. I’d like to see how the two incorporate their music together. – Walter

SPY x Family
Life for the Forger family is never dull, that’s for certain. With Anya officially being accepted to Eden Academy, Franky insists Loid give her a celebration to remember – and Anya has a very specific idea in mind for that celebration. She is to be Princess Anya, captured by the evil Scruffy and held captive in a giant castle, and it’s up to Loidman to save her! The absurdity is fantastic, as is the way Loid uses his spy agency to make the shenanigans happen. But when Twilight asks for help, everyone is on board to make sure he gets it. (Plus, it’s not a bad training exercise for them either.) The Rescue Princess Anya mission culminates in a one-on-one fight against Loidman and “The Witch” Yor, who is currently drunk on wine and just going along with it all. Overall, this was a really cute episode with some excellent animation, where we get to see Twilight in his element but without life-or-death stakes. We also get to see this crazy family forming more bonds. This is just all around good stuff and I love it. – Leah
