Miss Kuroitsu from the Monster Development Department
I started this series after it being on my watchlist for a while and watched quite a few of them. I really like the setup of it with the development of the monsters. The comedy is pretty good and there is a focus on work problems which Kuroistu has to deal with. I also enjoyed the different heroes who appear and their inclusion as “real heroes” in the endings. If you are a fan of tokusatsu, this might be something for you to check out. I can say I will continue with this one and might check out the manga for it too a little later on. – Walter

Princess Connect! Re: Dive
Coming right off the last episode, things aren’t going well. Karyl has seemingly switched sides, though for the rest of us it was something we’ve known she’s been wrestling with. A number of previous characters reappear for the chaos that’s occurring, with Yuni playing a big role exposing the truth of what’s happened. The conflict with Pecorine when she has to face Karyl was a highlight, not to mention the reveal to the others of who she really is. I’m curious with how they want to play this out. – Walter

In the Land of Leadale
This episode was one that went at a leisurely pace. Following the last, Cayna is taking care of Luka after adopting the girl. She introduces her to her siblings who all dote on their new sister. They treat her well and we see Cayna being serious about raising her, settling down a bit. She summons a maid to aid with this who has a bit of unique personality. She returns to the village where Luka will stay and finds the townsfolk, including the mermaid, doing well. It ends with Cayna once again being told of a celebration with drink. So the start of the next episode might not be too surprising. – Walter

My Dress-up Darling
It’s not hard for me to say that this week’s episode was pretty good, especially since I feel nearly all the episodes have been strong. This is about the part right after I last left off on the manga so this one was new to me overall. Since this cosplay shows up in the opening I kind of was expecting it, but I do like what they did with what the source material was. Of course the big thing was where they went to shoot their photos. There were a lot of great moments such as Gojo watching TV for a moment. I’m looking forward to see what they’ll be doing for the next. – Walter
Another great episode with some fantastic comedic timing. The team behind this anime has nailed facial reactions to an absurd degree, and I laughed so hard I cried once they reached the photo shoot. Still, there were a lot of cute parts here, too, and I loved how the show drew shade on light novel titles. Gojo is thinking what we’re all thinking when it comes to those comically long monstrosities. As always, Kitagawa looked stunning in her cosplay. This summer vacation is shaping up to be one to remember for the both of them and I can’t wait to see more. – Leah
