Dogos – PS4 Digital
This new shump is definitely one that caught my eye. It looks very much like the classic top down style, but with a definite twist. You apparently have much more freedom to move around the area, much more like the twin stick shooters of the current era. And it definitely has it going on in the graphics area as well.
Jotun: Valhalla Edition – PS4 Digital
This is kind of like a cross between The Legend of Zelda, and Dark Souls, only told in a bedtime story straight out of Norse Mythology. That is a huge bucket of win for my money.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II – PS3, PS Vita Digital
This one is definitely the feature release of this week. The Legend of Heroes series has been hugely popular among we Operation Rainfall staff, and it seems our audience is on board as well. Joe just released his Review of the game here, and it seems like it is a worthy entry into this beloved franchise.
Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas – PS4 Digital (Out 9/7)
This one looks like the love child of The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker and Rainbow Moon. So if that combination interests you, definitely check out this one. Or write your own slash fiction starring that pairing, whatever blows your hair back.
Sky Force Anniversary – PS4, PS3, PS Vita Digital
Even with 2 other shump games releasing this week, this one may turn out to be the best of them all. A recreation of a beloved classic that looks amazing with it’s new coat of paint, my wallet is screaming out in anticipated pain.
The Tomorrow Children – PS4 Digital
I would normally not feature any Free to Play games on this list, I’m not a real fan of that business model. However, it is Q Games (Pixeljunk) and Sony’s prestigious Japan Studio, so I they have earned my benefit of the doubt. Plus the concept of featuring a communist fantasy world really interests me.
Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet – PS4 Digital, Retail
This is the other feature game this week. I reviewed it myself and enjoyed it a lot. This is the ven diagram overlap of fighting games, bullet hell shooters, and cute anime girls.
