Edit: An earlier version of this article stated that Type-0 would be available for the Vita, based on an old version of the cited blog post’s headline. It has been confirmed that the game is coming to PS4 and Xbox One, but not the Vita.
Fans asked, and Square Enix has finally, finally answered. Final Fantasy Type-0 is on its way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe — and it’s going to be in HD. Sakura Minamida, Senior Product Manager over at Square Enix, had this to say on the PlayStation Blog today:
I’d like to start this out by thanking everyone who let us know how badly you wanted this game to come to North America. Ever since the original PlayStation Portable release in Japan, you guys have never given up on it, raising your voices in an effort to see this title come to North America and Europe. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s coming and it’s going to be in HD.
Stay tuned for more details in the future.
The recently released Final Fantasy Agito trailer also briefly mentions the Type-0 release near the end.
Was this an announcement you expected in the midst of this year’s E3? Was this an announcement you expected at all, or had you never given up hope? As always, your comments are welcome.
