UEMATSU BRACKET

Sephiroth—Final Fantasy VII | oprainfall—Operation Madness: RPG Villain Tournament

  • 1. Sephiroth defeats 5. Garland with 59% of the vote

This grouping had the closest results by far. First, we have Sephiroth’s win over the dean of Final Fantasy villains, Garland. This experiment will look for a spot in the semifinals next.

Lavos—Chrono Trigger | oprainfall—Operation Madness: RPG Villain Tournament

  • 2. Lavos defeats 14. Lehran by 5 votes

This was the closest match-up this round. Lehran and his supporters tried to keep this run going, but they just came up short in the end. I guess Lavos drained the energy from his run.

Uematsu Bracket—Quarterfinal | oprainfall—Operation Madness: RPG Villain Tournament

ROUND 4

Sephiroth has been the biggest question mark of the tournament in terms of how he stacks up against the other top seeds. He’s had a blowout win, but it wasn’t as big as the others. He’s had close battles, but not as close as others. And with the way Lavos has been going as of late (a close battle with Fawful, a narrow victory over Lehran), it’s tough to say who will win. Whoever it is, they’ll have their hands full with the Toriyama Bracket winner.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

ITOI BRACKET

Giygas—EarthBound | oprainfall—Operation Madness: RPG Villain Tournament

  • 1. Giygas defeats 5. General Beatrix with 58% of the vote

Giygas has powered his way through Beatrix. One Squaresoft enemy down, one more to go.

Golbez—Final Fantasy IV (iOS/Android) | oprainfall—Operation Madness: RPG Villain Tournament

  • 6. Golbez defeats 7. Axem Rangers with 68% of the vote

The Final Fantasy IV sorcerer just dominated against this group of Rangers. The third strong Final Fantasy representative will be looking for a semifinal spot.

Itoi Bracket—Quarterfinal | oprainfall—Operation Madness: RPG Villain Tournament

ROUND 4

Giygas, the “embodiment of evil,” has at least one more Final Fantasy villain to get through in this tournament, but this one’s a doozie. Golbez has been comfortably defeating his opponents, but he hasn’t matched up against anyone like this. No matter how this ends, there will be tears.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

opMADNESS 2014 Bracket—Quarterfinals | oprainfall—Operation Madness: RPG Villain Tournament

And that’s how it stacks up with the Evil Eight. Polls will remain open until Tuesday night at midnight PDT. After that, it’s the ______ Four.

…I haven’t come up with the name yet.
