Bulk Slash | Title screen

Bulk Slash | Title screen
24 years after its original release, cult classic SEGA Saturn game Bulk Slash will be available in English through a translation patch! For those of you that are unfamiliar with this title, Bulk Slash is a 3D action game where you control a robot and fight your way across several levels each with different mission objectives to complete before facing the boss for the stage. The game was known for it’s impressive and detailed visuals and the “Manageable Intelligent Support System” also known as M.I.S.S. In each stage you can find a hidden recruit-able companion who will act as your character’s navigator. They all have special abilities and will give the player clues and hints on where the next target is located or simply comment on your performance throughout the level. Completing missions with the navigators will earn you experience with them, eventually resulting in you leveling them up and reaching a unique ending with them.

Bulk Slash | Leone update

This translation patch also goes the extra mile by not only translating the in-game text, but also including an English dub for all of the navigators. They even managed to add support for the SEGA Saturn’s Twin Stick controller, which is a feature that wasn’t in the original release. A lot of talented and passionate fans came together to make this happen and you can look at the credits and more details about the patch in the below tweet.

The translation patch for Bulk Slash will be available later today on segaxtreme after the Shiro Show! stream to celebrate the release of the patch starting at 2:30 PDT. If you like old SEGA games or are just looking for a new mecha action game to experience, I highly recommend checking this one out especially if you have a twin stick laying around. A special stream
