Ron Gilbert’s throwback click-and-pointer Thimbleweed Park will indeed be launching on Nintendo Switch this September. Preceding that launch, the game will launch on PlayStation 4 on August 22nd as a download-only release. As Ron explains, the game’s existing controls will be uniquely adapted to each platform. As with the PS4, “a few added refinements” will be added that “take advantage of the DualShock 4 Controller’s unique features.” The Switch version will have even more unique perks from touch to its adaptability of playing it on the TV and on the go.

On Nintendo Switch, Thimbleweed Park will support both Joy-Con controllers and touch screen controls so players can easily switch between tabletop, handheld, and TV modes.

This announcement comes a month after Ron Gilbert teased his game running on Switch. It has been available for the past four months on PC, mobile, and Xbox One. A KickStarter success, Thimbleweed Park is the collaboration between Ron Gilbert and fellow adventure game luminaries Gary Winnick and David Fox. If you’re still curious as to what the game is, here’s the official synopsis:

A haunted hotel, an abandoned circus, a burnt-out pillow factory, toilets that run on vacuum tubes… in Thimbleweed Park, a dead body is the least of your problems. Five people with nothing in common have been drawn to this odd, rundown town. They don’t know it yet but they’re deeply connected. And they’re being watched.

An exact release date for the Nintendo Switch port should be coming in the near future, so stay tuned to oprainfall for when you’ll be solving this surreal murder mystery on a Nintendo platform.
