In preparation for the launch of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory, Bandai Namco released a new set of screenshots, including a glimpse of an all-new Digital Monster, Zubamon. Created in celebration of the Digimon franchise’s 20th anniversary, Zubamon Digivolves into ZubaEagermon, Duramon, and Durandamon.

Also new to Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory are “Domination Battles”, a unique form of team-based combat built around territory control and strategy. Two teams of hackers, either the Ally team or Enemy teams, vie for control of a “server domain” in the digital world. Teammates cross panels to change their color to correspond with their own team, hence to dominate the playing field.

Developed by Media Vision, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory (a digital mouth-full) launches in Japan in 2017 for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. It is the follow-up to 2015’s Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, and shares many of the same elements of that predecessor while introducing new characters, a new story, and more Digital Monsters to recruit.

A western digital-only release is in the cards for the west sometime in 2018.
