RetroN HD

Most retro gamers of today are familiar with the RetroN line of consoles. They’re consoles that can play older games, so you could play whatever game you wanted without having to pay a ridiculous amount for the right console, or have to pay to have one repaired. The first of these consoles could only play NES games, as opposed to the later series of consoles that could play up to 9 consoles worth of games. Fans of the first system are in luck, because Hyperkin have announced that they are releasing the RetroN HD, an update to the RetroN 1. You can now play your old NES games in beautiful 720p. This is really fantastic news to retro fans seeing as the NES Classic was just recently discontinued. The RetroN HD is now available to pre-order in the UK, and will be available to purchase starting May 25th at FunstockRetro. The console will cost you about $50, but that’s pretty cheap compared to the NES Classic. So if you’re a fan of old school gaming I’d definitely pick this up, I know I sure will.

A gamer at heart, and a creator by trade. As a shy kid who grew up in a small town, my only solace was with the games that I enjoyed playing. That being said I enjoy just about every type of game, but more than anything I love playing horror/unique games. I look forward to sharing my knowledge of the strange and unusual with the world.
