Masaya Nakamura

We have a bit of upsetting news today, as Bandai Namco Entertainment Japan has confirmed in a press release that Namco founder Masaya Nakamura has passed away on January 22 at the age of 91. Masaya Nakamura is known as the “Father of Pac-Man“, and the breakout worldwide success of games like Pac-Man, Galaxian and the sequel Ms. Pac-Man paved the way for future arcade hits from Namco like Ridge Racer and Tekken.

All of us here at Operation Rainfall would like to thank you for your contributions to the gaming industry, Masaya Nakamura. May you rest in peace.
