Hello again! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, and were stuffed to the brim with food. Now that Thanksgiving is over and done with, it’s time to stuff yourselves with some digital videogames, courtesy of the Big N! There are actually some pretty great games available this week, even one new one that really speaks to me personally. Additionally, since the Cyber Deals are still happening, I’ll be listing them instead of the standard games on sale. Just keep in mind those Cyber Deals only last until December 5th.

Let’s start off with a bang with the announcement that as of tomorrow, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS is out! I loved the Wii U version, and put in so much time that I even did a regular feature around it. Even though the portable version has some limited features by comparison, the appeal of making levels on the go is pretty strong for me. I think it will be a lovely time waster, and maybe even more fun than the original, despite the handicap of no online level sharing. Also exciting this week is the release of Advance Wars: Dual Strike on the Wii U Virtual Console. I absolutely loved the Advance Wars series, and Dual Strike was no exception. It introduced frenetic battles against 2 commanders at once, and it was a lot of fun, if somewhat unbalanced. I just hope one day Intelligent Systems and Nintendo will remember this series exists and give us a much deserved new entry.

Another new release today is the beautiful looking shmup Hyperlight EX, for the 3DS. Described as a high intensity arcade game, Hyperlight has a cool feature where the ship can travel so fast it becomes the weapon, able to crash through enemy hordes. It also sports 8 stages and many bosses to crush, and even medals to unlock. I’m keeping my eye on this one, as I love shumps, and any excuse to give my 3DS a little more love with that genre is a good one.

Lastly, while I would normally cover the standard weekly sales, this week I’m gonna gloss over the greatest hits available courtesy of the Cyber Deals sale! This is Nintendo’s big holiday push to get you to spend some money, and there are some real fantastic offerings available (unless you’re like me and already own all of them). First, Hyrule Warriors Legends is discounted from $39.99 to $27.99; Fire Emblem: Awakening is discounted from $39.99 to $19.99, which is an amazing price for an amazing game; the fun and quirky Steamworld Heist is discounted from $19.99 to $11.99; 7th Dragon III Code VFD, one of the surprise RPGs of the year, is down from $39.99 to $29.99; the remarkably crazy Project X Zone 2 is half off at $19.99; if lightning hasn’t struck yet, the original Azure Striker Gunvolt is pretty reasonable at $9.99; Fast Racing NEO is half off at $7.49; Jotun: Valhalla Edition is a pillage at $9.99; Freedom Planet is only $7.49; Virtue’s Last Reward is cut down to $12.49 and last but not least, Zero Time Dilemma is down from $39.99 to $27.99. There are also some other sales available, but these are the ones I felt most merited a mention. If you want to see the full list, click here.
