Adam Boyes, Former VP of Publisher/Developer Relations

Earlier today, Adam Boyes announced his intent to leave his post as Sony’s Vice President of Publisher and Developer Relations and return to game development. Boyes made frequent appearances at E3 during both press conferences and interviews in this role, which he has held for over four years.

Though he might not bear the most recognizable name in the games industry, he should still be rather recognizable to those watching the E3 news back in 2013. Shuhei Yoshida and he notably made light of the controversial Microsoft decision to disallow used games on the Xbox One in a very well-received promotional video for the PlayStation 4. Moments like this make it sad to see him go, but his series of tweets indicates he is nothing but thankful about his time at Sony:

After an incredible journey here at PlayStation, I’ve made the very hard decision to return to the world of game development! (

The past 4+ years have been an absolutely amazing experience! I’d like to start out by thanking the incredible PlayStation Nation fans!

Lots of thanks to throw out over the coming week as I wrap things up to head out on my new adventure… stay tuned!

The best news is that we have an incredible team here so the development & publishing community & gamers are in GREAT hands!

Adam Boyes had previously worked at a handful of other companies doing game development, including Midway, EA, Next Level Games, Capcom, and Beefy Media, which he founded. It will be interesting to see where he goes now, but it is great to see that he will still be involved in the industry.
